When the people at “In Your Backyard Iowa” asked me to write a little about myself for the web page I had to think about it for awhile. What makes me qualified to talk or write about fishing and hunting in Iowa? The best way to describe my qualifications is that from ice out until the end of September my wife doesn’t ask if I’m going fishing but where am I fishing and is it a tournament. From the first of October until first ice she asks what are you hunting this weekend?  And from first ice until ice out she asks either is the ice safe yet or is it still safe and are you cleaning fish today? I always remind her that I haven’t gone through yet and the other guys want to keep fish from time to time. Needless to say if it’s the weekend I’m either fishing or hunting.  I don’t know if that makes me qualified to write about fishing and hunting in Iowa but I told the guys at “In Your Backyard Iowa” that I would help them out.       P.S. As long as it doesn’t interferer with my weekends!
